The other day I was going through my Facebook profile just to update my contact and other stuff. As I perused it, I happened to notice that I am a member of more than 1,000 Facebook groups. From weird ones like ‘I have hair on my nose’ to crazier ones like ‘How to fart’ to important ones ‘Tusker Drinkers’ to churchy ones ‘Jesus, My savoir’ the list was endless. However, what caught my eyes was that I am a member of at least 600 porn/sex Facebook groups. Not only that, I also happen to be the admin in almost one hundred of these! And I have no idea how I got there! One of these groups that caught my eyes was one called ‘Kenyan Gay Porn Actors’; and I was surprisingly alert when I read this. Just that week I had been thinking of doing a dossier on gay Kenyan porn. The group had a contact number and I send them a text. I was hoping that I would get more information on this.

After a day or so, I received a message from a fellow called ‘Shoga Mtombaji’ who told me that he is the group’s admin and that the group was for Kenyan gays who wanted to act in a gay porn and be paid for it. I asked what the payment was and he said that for every scene they pay 200 Euros and it is paid upfront and only when one performs to the specifications of the director. I said I was interested and he asked me what role do I play (in sex) and I said I was active. He then asked me if I was muscled and  I said, no but that I have a large body. He said that was fine. He then asked me the size of my ding dong and I told him. He said he wanted to be sure if I was for real and asked if I was, to send him 1,000 KShs via M-Pesa as a proof of interest to a number he gave me. Given that now my curiosity was taking advantage of me, I obliged and afterwards, he send me a text with the directions to a rendezvous point in Karen, Nairobi. Well, the text said that I take a matatu to Karen shopping centre then another to the pickup point and then call him when I was there.

The next couple of days were unsure and exciting to say the least. I kept thinking in my head how this was going to pan out and what to expect. Was I really going to have sex in front of a camera? Was I going to have my face shot and broadcast all over the world in that fleeting moment of ecstasy? I was also afraid of some of the things I see in porn videos. During this time, he started to ask me about my family, when I found out I was gay, school and work.
